Aircraft maintenance and refurbishment operations in Eastern North Carolina benefit from a steady supply of aircraft mechanics entering the private sector workforce each year after having served in the military. Over 700 military service members enter the workforce each year with skills in avionics, airframe repair, engine repair and maintenance, and composite repair.
